As a child a toffee apple was a treat and usually only around in the Autumn when the travelling fairground came to Town or for Firework night too.
At that time all toffee apples were a thin layer of brown crispy toffee. Now it is soft caramel toffee apple all the way for me!!
The first time we visited the USA in 1996 I stood and looked through a candy store window in awe! They had ones with Oreo cookies, M&M's, sprinkles, gummies and any type of sweet you wanted .. they were as big as your head and would have taken a week to eat!!
How about you do you like the soft or crispy type?
