Casually crafting - sketch card

Happy new Blog Hop Day for the Casually Crafting Design Team. We are a group of independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. The hop goes live on the 3rd Saturday of each month and I am always excited to be a part of it. Our projects are aimed at beginner stampers and those who craft occasionally, but are also great as a spring board for intermediate and more avid crafters too!

This months theme is was a sketch card; I always love to use sketches as I feel half of the design work is already done lol! I am able to use the sketch and just add my own stamps and paper to it. Here is the basic sketch we were given - I created a simple layout on my card which can be stepped up if you wish and works with sets you already own. I used the colour palette and tried to add the lined element too by scoring my card layer and using the Blackberry Bliss card base to give the idea of the purple lines.

I created two versions as I wasn't sure whether I wanted to stamp over some of the white space, in the end I wasn't sure which one to choose so I chose both!

To create the card I scored a piece of 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" Blackberry Bliss card stock at 4 1/4". I also scored a piece of 4 x 5 1/4" Basic White card stock at 1/2" on all four sides, stamped it with the Thanks sentiments from the Ornate Thanks set using Blackberry Bliss ink, and attached it to the base.
I then used my Blends to colour flowers from the True love DSP - I used Light and Dark Polished Pink, Light and Dark Rich Razzleberry, Light So Saffron and Light Old Olive. I fussy cut the flowers out, adhered the group of 2 to the Basic White Layer and then the single flower was attached with dimensionals. I also colour 3 Basic pearls with the Blends and added them. On the second card I used the spots from the new Quiet Meadow stamp set and used 3rd generation Old Olive ink (I stamped off twice to achieve this).

I hope you like my card - don't forget to visit each of the other demonstrators in the team and check out their projects too. You will find the link below.

Have a wonderful crafty day, thankyou for joining me!
