Christmas countdown!

Christmas??? NOOOOOOO ... too early I hear you say! I am not really in Christmas mode just yet as I still working on Autumn and Thanksgiving, but I sent for the Christmas countdown kit to play with and couldn't resist opening it. This is a returning favourite from last year; I didn't get it last year so it is new to me and I really like it!

It is a kit that arrives with the boxes already made and in their cardboard cover, it is much sturdier than I expected and so fast to put together. Last year there was a co-ordinating stamp set which I don't have and actually don't even need; I am not stamping mine and am just using the adhesive die cuts and numbers. Everything is pre-cut and it would be a great project to make as a family. The only thing you need is adhesive for some of the die cuts.

The boxes are 2" cubes with a small oval as a thumb hole. I put 2 packs of mini starburst in a box and some skittles in another and there was lots of space left. It would be great for lego, more candies, tea and coffee sachets, hair accessories, nail polish, lip balms etc.

I saw on Pinterest and the Stampin' Up! catalogue that lots of people have cut their own little squares of designer series paper and punched or cut the little thumb hole and glued these to the back of the small boxes. They have then used them for birthday, holiday or even Hallowe'en  countdowns and then just turned the boxes round for Christmas. I like the idea of using it to store embellishments and ink refills too.

Look at this one by my UK friend Liz Yuille with a sheet of current Trimming the tree DSP cut into squares and the Serenestamper who used Sailing home images and DSP from last year.

I haven' t finished mine yet but it will probably only take an hour or two at the most to create this and it is going to be our advent calendar this year - well mine anyway as I may not share :)

The kit is #150703 and is just $41 - I would love for us to have a zoom meeting and we can all make our boxes together ! Let me know if you order one and we can make a plan.

This months host code is KS9FGRU3 - use it and I will send you a little sample of some of the new Designer series paper as well as a handmade card in the mail. Use the shop code below to order.
