This weekend has been an eye opener for me and I need to say sorry :(
When I looked through the 2020 - 2021 annual catalogue I saw this Simply citrus kit, thought "Hmmm, pretty colours but not on my list to buy, I wouldn't use it" and just turned the page. Oh my goodness was I ever wrong! Well not wrong ..... just not right haha!
My very crafty daughter-in-law looked at the catalogue and automatically ordered this kit and I still didn't think I needed it.
My daughter in Ontario needed something to help her relax, she is NOT a crafter and so has no stamp supplies but I thought it might be possible to send her something easy to work on. I checked the kits for an all-inclusive one and this fitted the bill so I ordered it for her to be shipped to her home. Job done! Then she asked if I would craft with her via the internet and we could make it together - 'hmmm ok but I don't have that kit'. I ordered one for myself and thought I could craft a little with my daughter and give my daughter in law whatever was left to add to her kit.
The weekend that we could craft arrived and I hadn't even opened the box! My daughter and I started to chat and to open the box but it soon went quiet. The kit is absolutely gorgeous! and at $44 for everything it is a super deal. I had sent a pair of paper snips and some of the liquid glue as part of my daughters order as she has nothing, and lets face it those glue dots are tricky even for a seasoned crafter! We crafted for 2 hours, chatting, laughing, looking for where the dimensional backing pieces had disappeared to and just had fun.
Our family has had a rough time during COVID and for the first time in a long time I relaxed and crafted for the pure joy of sharing and creating, it wasn't for my Youtube channel, my wonderful customers or for an upcoming card class. We did not make a single card exactly the same as the instructions and that is part of the allure of these kits - you can put your own spin on it and make it your own.
We made 5 cards and have another 10 to do - this makes another 2 sessions at least of laughing, sharing and being together via the internet.
At the end of the day I still have to say sorry:
To Stampin' Up! - I am sorry I didn't stop to look at the kit when the catalogue arrived - I should have known it would be wonderful!
To my lovely daughter, sorry I had not sent you a kit before or we could have been connecting and having regular online craft time.
And to my dearest daughter in law - I am sorry that there won't be any leftovers from the kit as I love it too much and intend to use every single piece <3. Next time we craft online come and make it a threesome!
Here are my 4 of my 5 cards that I created with the kit.
If you need some downtime get the kit and craft with a friend online, have a girls night out while you are inside!!
