My Friday tip

Hi everyone and welcome to my Friday tip! I have been playing with punches this week and hope you saw my tag and tag card on Wednesday using the Time for tags hostess set with the coordinating Timeless label punch. Don't forget to watch my Simple Sunday video for more ideas with punches.
Punches have a ton of uses and are a great boost in the craft room.

  1. They really speed up the cutting out of an image or sentiment; especially if you are mass producing a card
  2. They are great for creating punch art - shapes, characters, shadows etc
  3. Simple circle punches can be layered for greetings and mats of coloured card stock added to them, they can be used as a peek a boo window, they work well for accents and simple design elements - attach different sizes to a card front to create a background and then run the card through an embossing folder for a new look.
  4. Use all punches for your sentiments - don't just stick to the one that co-ordinates to a stamp set!
  5. Change the orientation of the punch for a different look.
  6. Keep your small offcuts of card that you would normally throw away as they are too small; punch shapes out. Keep the shapes for different projects and they will give you a design base or idea for your next card. Who can say no to free punched shapes?
