Wednesday and my gatefold card with a twist!

Morning everyone - what a wicked storm we had last night! It blew in from the west and whilst it was pretty to watch over the mountains, once it hit us it was intense! The noise and bright light kept us awake and so in the end I just sat and watched the sky. Such a pretty show but I am so glad I wasn't out in it; I worked on my card for today instead lol!

I used the Floral essence stamp set with matching punch to make my gatefold card - making the flaps narrower means you can stamp an image or sentiment in the gap they create. I think this always looks good and once you open the card you can still see the sentiment.

Measurements for the card which fits in our ordinary envelope
Base card - Rich razzleberry  5 1/2 x 7 3/4"   Score at 1 3/4" at each end of the long side
                                                2" circle
Inside layer - whisper white   5 1/4 x 4"
                                                2 1/4" circle
DSP - perennial essence         2 pieces  1 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Vellum cardstock
Stamps - Floral essence and matching punch
ink - whisper white, moments black

Middle of flower - can use small punched circle of card, the flower centre stamp in the set, faceted gem, etc.

You can add a brad, piece of card, embellishment etc to keep the flower circle held down and this keeps the card closed until the recipient opens it. I like it with and without the closure. Move the flower to the middle of the card and add an imad=ge either side of it to create a different look.

This card makes a great base for all occasions and any DSP - it always looks stylish and is an easy one to recreate. Have fun!
