Hello everyone
I just returned from Onstage 2018 at Red Deer - it was absolutely fantastic and I had a blast! It was my first ever Onstage and I don't know why I left it 2 years to go to one; as I told other demonstrators it was the perfect place to pop my cherry :P
I had been chosen to be an onstage presenter of a new suite of products - well go big or go home right? My first Onstage, present a suite and talk about business plans, didn't know anyone and had to make a display board of samples ...... just a normal weekend!
First of all I had attended on the Friday to practice my presentation; I met Donna Griffith, Julie and 'Canada Dale' who were just the sweetest people and made me feel at ease. The mic guy helped me sort out my portable microphone and attached it to 'my little lovely ear' - his words not mine! The camera guy showed me where I needed to put my samples, projects and papers on the table while presenting. I can't lie - afterwards I was nervous as anything as everyone else seemed to be holding it together and excited. I couldn't sleep on the night and was back in the room at 7.30am to set up my table. I have an upline who isn't really active or have classes etc and had no one to sit with, I asked at one table if there was a space for me - best table ever! The ladies I sat with were from Calgary and Edmonton and included all levels of demonstrator including $1,000,000 stamper Karen Duke. I felt at ease straight away and they showed me what would happen and all the housekeeping rules. They kept my nerves in check and made me laugh.
When it was my turn to present I was pumped! I showed my stamp set, explained how to attach trinkets to cards with a 'booger' glue dot, laughed, and soaked up the energy from 350 likeminded demonstrators. I was actually sad when it was over but elated for the rest for the day. I rabbited on about it all the way home to Cochrane to my poor husband who surely had ear ache before we even left Red Deer.
I learned so much from other demonstrators; techniques, business ideas, ways to run classes and events. Swaps were made and I was in awe of the cards and gifts I received from others, addresses and social media addresses were exchanged and all too soon the day ended. During the sessions we were given challenges for the next few months - I promised to get my blog going and post twice a week, to increase the number of ladies who would come to my class and to be more active. Watch this space!
I can't show any of my gifted or prize patrol free stamp sets until the new catalogue is live but we were truly spoiled by Stampin Up! I can show some of the goodies we were given as we arrived though.
If you ever get the chance to attend Onstage - take the bull by the horns and get yourself there; you wont regret a single minute of it.
Diane your blog is lovely my angel, and it will grow and grow, try to post at least 3 times a week to keep things fresh, and post every project x x huge hugs x x
