Angle cut waterfront card

I used to make flip corner cards as I really like the effect; I spent ages cutting and measuring to making sure the corners were even etc. A couple of days ago I had a lightbulb moment - a rare event I know!! Instead of all the cutting and measuring I simply sliced the corner off my card base, cut 2 matching squares to attach to the corner and hey presto! It looked near enough the same as the flip corner card! I don't know if I have ever seen the card made this way before but I think I prefer it just for ease of cutting and speed of making it. I like that I could now use a circle or oval instead of a square if I wanted as well, and I am sat thinking about how I could add a star lol!

To cut the front of the card at an angle I used a rough measurement of 1/2" from where the card folds in the centre - measured from the fold to the right of the card. Then measure from the top right hand corner down to 3 1/2"
Position the 2 marks on the trimmer track and cut down the card - you will end up with a triangle shape which is discarded.

I took the opportunity to stamp on the inside too - what a nice surprise when the recipient opens the card :)

To make the card you need:
card base 8 1/2" x 11" and scored at 4 1/4"
2 pieces card stock same colour as the base 3" x 3"
2 pieces whisper white card stock 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
1 piece whisper white card stock 5 1/4" x 4" for inside
piece of whisper white card stock for sentiment
piece of DSP approx 3 1/2" x 1"

I used Waterfront stamp set, balloon adventures for the banner and sentiment, High Tide for the birds.
