Template #1 - card with minimal stamping
I love to use templates to make quick cards using DSP (designer series paper)and not too much stamping. I often have pieces of card and paper cut ready so that I can just grab what I need and make a card without too much preparation and minimal fuss. Here is one that fits the bill and I use it a lot!
Base card and layers - all same colour
- 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2"
- 1 3/4" x 4"
- 3" x 5"
- piece of scrap for sentiment
Front and inside - white or very vanilla
- 2 pieces 4" x 5 1/4"
- piece of scrap for sentiment
DSP
- 2 3/4"" x 4 3/4"
- 1 1/2" x 3 3/4"
Embellishments
ribbon twine to contrast/match to DSP - approx 5" or enough to tie round narrowest DSP layer
3 rhinestones, pearls, enamel dots etc.
Fold and burnish main card using bone folder. Attach piece of card to front and inside of folded card. Layer DSP onto card pieces and attach largest to main card. Tie knot, or bow if preferred using the ribbon, to the narrowest piece of card with DSP and attach.
Stamp sentiment and cut out to preferred shape or just flag the ends, layer with the coloured scrap piece and attach using dimensionals to give a little height .
I add 3 rhinestones, enamel dots etc to largest piece of DSP.
I don't often add a sentiment to the inside of my cards until I know who I am sending them to, I sometimes add a narrow strip of DSP or stamped image to the inside and envelope though as this just ties the pieces together.
