Hi everyone - hope you are all well and enjoying the Summertime.
I am camping this week so thought I would take time to answer some questions that I had in the last few days.
1.The first question was about where I live, where my accent is from and when/why I moved.
I live in beautiful Cochrane Alberta, about 45 m minutes from Banff and the mountains. We can see the mountains clearly from where we are and they change every single day - I love the early morning light on them when they are pink and light purple but they are at their best when covered in snow and the sun shines on them!
My husband and I moved from England 18 years ago and came to Alberta to start a new life with our teenage children. We have never once been disappointed or regretted our decision but sure do miss our family back home. We both are from the same Town in East Yorkshire and I moved 'down south' to Surrey when we got married, we lived there 18 years and have good friends and neighbours there still.
My accent has changed somewhat but is still mainly a Yorkshire one - I just had to modify certain words so that the 'southerners' and the Canadians know what I am actually talking about. I know when I say something and my friends just stare at me that I have to go back and clarify lol!
2. Question 2 was about Stampin' up!, when and why I joined.
I joined 4 years ago last March. I have always enjoyed paper crafts and used to go on holiday to America and visit Hobby Lobby and Michaels - my suit case was always filled with stamping materials, cross stitch kits and crafty things I could use at school with my class.
I saw a card on the internet one day using the owl punch and I really loved it, I did some research and found Stampin' Up!, found a local demonstrator via Facebook and put in an order. A few months later I joined for the great joining offer and kit and have never looked back. I love that I don't have to go to lots of different stores any more to find paper, card, inks etc that all co ordinate; Stampin' Up! took all that hard work away!
I also love the friends I have made both here in Cochrane and on line - they have become like my family.
3. Question 3 was about the storage boxes I showed during one of my videos when I made the zany zebras card last week. I am not affiliated to Amazon in any way but bought them at amazon.ca. They are photo storage boxes and come as a set of 6 (or more if you pick the larger set), they stack in their own carry case and are a perfect size for cards scraps, embellishments , adhesives etc. I think you can also buy them in Michaels and probably similar stores. Check out the video at the end to see more about the storage boxes.
My Youtube video can be seen here showing the storage boxes from Amazon.
Lovely to learn more about your story Diane. I signed up as a demo 18 months ago and am loving it!
ReplyDeleteWe travelled the world for many years with my husband's work. We are now very settled in South Wales I have a view of mountains but not as picturesque as yours. I love your videos. Take care.
